\u00a0With Canada Day just around the corner,\u00a0Belleville Fire and Emergency Services is reminding residents of the City\u2019s restrictions\u00a0on\u00a0fireworks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Under the\u00a0Fireworks\u00a0By-law\u00a0(2025-142),\u00a0consumer fireworks\u00a0may\u00a0only be discharged on Canada Day or on the day before or after\u00a0(June 30, July\u00a01\u00a0or July 2)\u00a0and\u00a0only in the rural areas of Belleville.\u00a0Discharging consumer fireworks in the urban areas of Belleville is\u00a0strictly prohibited\u00a0year-round.<\/p>\n
Residents planning to\u00a0discharge\u00a0consumer fireworks in rural Belleville are reminded to follow these safety tips:<\/p>\n
Keep a water source and fire extinguisher readily available.<\/p>\n
Ensure\u00a0only adults handle and ignite\u00a0the fireworks.\u00a0Never use fireworks while impaired.<\/p>\n
Maintain\u00a0a safe distance\u00a0from people,\u00a0houses\u00a0and flammable\u00a0material.<\/p>\n
Never light or discharge fireworks from your hands.<\/p>\n
Dispose of used fireworks safely by soaking them in water before discarding them.<\/p>\n
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the City\u2019s Canada Day fireworks display at Zwick\u2019s Park on July 1 at dusk (between 9:30 and 10 p.m.).
