Waste\u00a0collection changes for Canada Day<\/p>\n
The City of Belleville is reminding residents that waste collection schedules (including garbage, recycling and organics) will change during the week of Canada Day due to the statutory holiday on Wednesday, July 1.<\/p>\n
Residents who normally receive waste collection on Tuesday, June 30 will have their collection moved to Monday, June 29. Residents with Wednesday, July 1 collection will have their waste collected on Tuesday, June 30.<\/p>\n
There will be no\u00a0waste\u00a0collection on Wednesday, July 1. Collection schedules for Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3,\u00a0will remain unchanged.<\/p>\n
Residents are asked to place\u00a0waste\u00a0at the curb by 7 a.m. on their collection day to ensure pickup.<\/p>\n
Canada Day festivities on Wednesday, July 1st will be held once again at West Zwick\u2019s Park. Parking for the event will once again be $5 per vehicle, going towards local charities. Activities will start at 11 a.m., and include live-music, a lumberjack competition, hockey zone, and local vendors. Belleville Transit will be running free shuttle buses that day from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., going from Quinte Mall, the downtown terminal, and the park. Belleville is planning to have fireworks that evening between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., depending on the weather.
