{"id":112689,"date":"2026-07-02T04:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T04:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/112689\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T04:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T04:43:10","slug":"canada-to-compete-in-eurovision-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/112689\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada to compete in Eurovision 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada will participate in Eurovision 2027 in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n<p>The country will be represented by CBC\/Radio-Canada, Canada\u2019s national public broadcaster, which recently became a full member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).<\/p>\n<p>Canada will compete in the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurovisionworld.com\/eurovision\/2027\/semi-final\" title=\"Eurovision 2027 Semi-finals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Semi-finals<\/a> and becomes the first new country to join Eurovision since Australia in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>CBC\/Radio-Canada has not yet announced how Canada\u2019s artist and song will be selected. The broadcaster says more details about the selection process will be revealed later this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eurovisionworld.com\/esc\/canada-explores-participation-in-eurovision-song-contest\" title=\"Canada explores participation in the Eurovision Song Contest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/eurovision-canada-heart_t.jpg\" alt=\"Eurovision Canada Heart\" title=\"Eurovision Canada Heart\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Related storyCanada explores participation in the Eurovision Song Contest<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Marie-Philippe Bouchard, President and CEO of CBC\/Radio-Canada, says:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 On this Canada Day, as we celebrate with Canadians across the country and around the world the richness and diversity of Canadian culture, we\u2019re so excited to confirm that we\u2019re bringing the world\u2019s largest live music event to Canadians.<\/p>\n<p>She adds that Canada\u2019s participation will allow Canadian talent to be showcased on the Eurovision stage in Bulgaria, while giving fans in Canada the opportunity to continue watching and voting in the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Martin Green CBE, Director of the Eurovision Song Contest at the EBU, says:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 We are absolutely delighted to welcome CBC\/Radio-Canada to the Eurovision Song Contest family \u2013 a further sign that, while born in Europe, the Contest continues to welcome the world.<\/p>\n<p>Canada has previously had several connections to Eurovision. The most famous is C\u00e9line Dion, who won Eurovision 1988 for Switzerland with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eurovisionworld.com\/eurovision\/1988\/switzerland\" title=\"Eurovision 1988 Switzerland: C\u00e9line Dion \u2013 &quot;Ne partez pas sans moi&quot;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ne partez pas sans moi<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>CBC\/Radio-Canada\u2019s Eurovision debut will take place at the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Canada in the Eurovision Song Contest <a href=\"https:\/\/eurovisionworld.com\/eurovision\/canada\" class=\"color_hover\" title=\"Canada in Eurovision: Voting &amp; Points\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Canada is the newest member of the Eurovision family.<\/p>\n<p>The country is set to make its Eurovision Song Contest debut in 2027, where it will compete in one of the two Semi-finals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Canada will participate in Eurovision 2027 in Bulgaria.
