Great news, northsiders: your Amazon packages could soon be arriving at your doorstep even faster.<\/p>\n
Amazon is bringing a new delivery station to northwest Edmonton. The company received a building permit from the City of Edmonton on June 17 for the project, which has an estimated construction value of $97 million.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the company confirmed the project, which will be located at 16404 145th Ave. NW, and said that while it\u2019s still in the early stages, it will operate as a delivery station.<\/p>\n
There is no estimated timeline for when the new centre will be in operation, but construction is expected to kick off this year.<\/p>\n
Delivery stations are the final stop in Amazon\u2019s logistics network, where packages are sorted before heading out for delivery to customers.<\/p>\n
The delivery station will sit just north of Twin Willows Golf Club, which is set to permanently close after this season<\/a>. The site will be transformed into an industrial business park by Panattoni Development Co.
