Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) said it will deploy nearly $25 million in federal funding to support 14 advanced manufacturing projects focused on AI, robotics and industrial technologies.<\/p>\n

The projects, backed by an additional $38 million from industry, represent more than $62 million in total investment aimed at strengthening Canada\u2019s manufacturing competitiveness and accelerating commercialization.<\/p>\n

NGen said the initiative will support technologies including robotics, digital twins and automated production systems as Canada looks to expand its advanced manufacturing ecosystem and global partnerships.<\/p>\n

PRESS RELEASE \u2014\u00a0Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen)<\/a>, the industry-led, not-for-profit organization that leads Canada\u2019s Global Innovation Cluster for Advanced Manufacturing, today announced nearly\u00a0$25\u00a0million in new federal funding<\/a>\u00a0to support\u00a014 new advanced manufacturing technology projects.<\/p>\n

Team Canada at Hannover Messe<\/p>\n

The announcement was made at\u00a0Hannover Messe, the world\u2019s largest industrial trade show, running from April 20 \u2013 24, hosting over 130,000 visitors from 150 countries and 4,000 exhibiting companies from around the world.<\/p>\n

The Canadian delegation, led by NGen and The Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Economic Development for Quebec Regions, will bring over 100 Canadian companies working on AI, robotics, advanced materials, and manufacturing processes for defence to forge new business partnerships and showcase Canadian industrial innovations on the world stage.<\/p>\n

New Advanced Manufacturing Projects Underway<\/p>\n

The new funding is provided through NGen\u2019s\u00a0Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program<\/a>\u00a0which is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of Canada\u2019s manufacturing sector, drive more innovation and investment in advanced manufacturing technologies in Canada, generate new commercial opportunities for Canadian companies in global markets, grow world-leading Canadian enterprises, and develop a modern and inclusive workforce with the skills to excel in advanced manufacturing.<\/p>\n

Combined with $38 million in direct investment from industry, the projects represent a total investment of over $62.7 million to strengthen the Canadian advanced manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n
