{"id":11756,"date":"2026-04-20T16:32:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T16:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/11756\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T16:32:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T16:32:16","slug":"toronto-is-getting-a-new-direct-flight-to-caribbean-city-with-a-european-twist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/11756\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto is getting a new direct flight to Caribbean city with a European twist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re already planning out your vacation days for the rest of the year, you might want to keep this new, upcoming flight service out of Pearson Airport on your radar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newswire.ca\/news-releases\/winter-2026-2027-a-wave-of-new-offerings-sweeps-across-air-transat-s-network-to-the-south-and-europe-887676398.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2026-2027 winter program announcement<\/a>, Montreal-based carrier Air Transat revealed that it is launching four new routes in late 2026, including a brand new,\u00a0non-stop flight service from Toronto to Fort-de-France.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The port city\u00a0\u2014\u00a0which is the capital of Martinique,\u00a0a French overseas territory\u00a0\u2014 is known for its tropical biodiversity, colonial architecture, scenic beaches, Creole culture, and vibrant markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Top attractions in the city include the\u00a0Sch\u0153lcher Library, Saint-Louis Cathedral, and the Jardin de Balata (botanical garden).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new service to the French Antilles is set to be offered twice weekly starting Dec. 19, 2026, from Toronto&#8217;s Pearson Airport to\u00a0Martinique Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire International Airport.
