Harvey was the #2 seed in both her scratched entries this morning.

While it was unlikely that she would have swum the 1500 free, an event which she has not swum on the global stage and in which her lifetime best is just 16:35.91, more than ten seconds off the 16:24.56 required for the Pan Pacs team, her scratch in the 100 free is more notable.

She had been entered half a second behind Taylor Ruck in 54.34, but owns a best time of 53.71 and would have been in line to qualify for the women’s 4×100 free relay team this summer. As one of only six swimmers entered under 55 seconds, her withdrawal is a bit of a blow to that relay at Pan Pacs.

Harvey has entries in the 100 fly (58.71, #2 seed), 200 IM (2:08.78, #2 seed) and 100 breast (1:08.37, #4 seed) remaining this week. She will swim the 400 IM today, where she is the second seed behind McIntosh in 4:34.29, a time she swam just over a month ago at the Canet stop of the Mare Nostrum tour.

She was one of a number of scratches across the men’s and women’s 100 free. Ella Jansen scratched to avoid a double, doing so for the second day in a row, as she focuses on the 400 IM today where she now ranks second. Madison Kryger, who broke 1:00 in the 100 back yesterday with a 59.59, also scratches in favor of another event, this time being the 50 back where she is the #3 seed.

Javier Acevedo was the big name scratching on the men’s side, having been the 8th seed in the 100 free in 49.92. He split 47.97 at the 2022 World Championships and 47.73 at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and has a PB of 48.50 from 2023.

Brady Johnson, of the University of Missouri, scratched both events this morning and is likely to be out of the meet having also scratched the 100 back yesterday. He was the #9 seed in the 50 back and the #25 seed in the 100 free.

Finally, breaststroke specialist Alexanne LePage dropped the 400 IM this morning, likely in anticipation for the 50 breast tomorrow. She set the Canadian record in the short course 50 breast and 100 breast at the USPORT Championships earlier this year, where she also won the 400 IM

Women’s 400 IM

Men’s 400 IM

#11 Tuja Dreyer (UCSC) – 4:30.53
#26 Kingston Hitchcock (RDCSC) – 4:36.10
#38 Max Wu (PSW) – 4:39.57
#52 Lucas Lloyd-Bee (ROW) – 4:42.23
#56 Maddox Oliver (EKSC) – 4:43.19
#57 Marcus Venditti (PCSC) – 4:43.31

Women’s 100 Freestyle

Men’s 100 Freestyle

Women’s 50 Backstroke

Men’s 50 Backstroke

#9 Brady Johnson (UMIZ) – 26.11
#46 Braeden Hager (UNCAN) – 27.71
#54 Liam Paterson (CCSC) – 27.84

Women’s 1500 Freestyle

2026 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials Mary-Sophie Harvey scratched two of her three events this morning after placing second…

[2
40288,39014,40289,40290,40291,17,39020,40292,39021,40293,40294,40295,40296,40297,40298,40299,40300,40301,40302,40303,40006,40304,40305,39028,40306,40307,40308,17614,39031,39032,40309,40310
post-118123","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-canada","tag-a-nicholson-jodoin","tag-alexanne-lepage","tag-aurelia-girard","tag-brady-johnson","tag-braeden-hager","tag-canada","tag-delia-lloyd","tag-ella-harrison","tag-ella-jansen","tag-emerson-tully","tag-javier-acevedo","tag-jordyn-richardson","tag-kamila-blanchard","tag-kingston-hitchcock","tag-kyah-de-mitri","tag-laila-oravsky","tag-liam-paterson","tag-lucas-lloyd-bee","tag-lucas-morin","tag-maddox-oliver","tag-madison-kryger","tag-marcus-venditti","tag-marissa-laurin","tag-mary-sophie-harvey","tag-max-wu","tag-mia-thomas","tag-paige-stepanoff","tag-ranumi-eashwarage","tag-summer-mcintosh","tag-taylor-ruck","tag-tuja-dreyer","tag-zoe-rattee
["GET
