His contract expires at the end of this coming season, and he has been eligible for a new deal since July 1. Don Sweeney wants to keep him in Boston. He has taken calls on Zacha but reiterated how important the Czech center is to the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also happening in Boston\u2026 well, now Boston. The <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/tag\/boston-fleet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fleet<\/a> are moving to BU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elsewhere around the NHL, Simon Nemec signed a long-term deal in Calgary, and Claude Giroux is re-upping in Ottawa. The Flyers might have to turn to an old friend (foe) to help them sign Leo Carlsson, and trade boards continue to shift.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zacha is not the only one in extension talks; other teams are working on their own. Chicago has to extend Connor Bedard, and Joe Sakic is getting to work on new deals for two of his key players.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy Tuesday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/category\/bruins-daily\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daily Bean<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Boston Bruins<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026-07-06-bruins-could-face-costly-pavel-zacha-extension\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ZACHA<\/a>: Elliotte Friedman called <a href=\"http:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/tag\/pavel-zacha\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pavel Zacha<\/a>\u2019s extension \u201cone of the most fascinating things that\u2019s going to happen this offseason.\u201d Teams have checked in, but <a href=\"http:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/tag\/don-sweeney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Don Sweeney<\/a> said his goal is to extend the 29-year-old. With the limited market, that may be the Bruins\u2019 best bet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He\u2019s not the 1C Cam Neely is looking for, but he is the Bruins\u2019 best option down the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Boston Fleet<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lydia_murray12\/status\/2074292316383187283?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Lydia Murray (via \ud835\udd4f)<\/a>: The Boston Fleet are reportedly moving to Boston. His contract will carry a $7.25 million cap hit. The 38-year-old center has spent the last four seasons close to home, and he is staying there for Year 5.
