Prime Minister Mark Carney has been spending this weekend at the high-energy, high-profile Calgary Stampede.<\/p>\n

Carney attended the annual rodeo and exhibition Saturday night, reportedly enjoying mini doughnuts and watching chuckwagon races.<\/p>\n

Today he was scheduled to stop at a Stampede breakfast then head to the Stampede grounds.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been wearing a cowboy hat, blending in with the crowds. Perhaps symbolically, the hat is white \u2014 i.e. one of the good guys.<\/p>\n

Alberta is territory where the Liberals have not been popular for decades, particularly when Trudeau prime ministers (senior and junior) were leading the country.<\/p>\n

Carney was in Calgary on July 2 to announce a plan for the new oil pipeline<\/a>, along with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.<\/p>\n
