We have another signing to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization, this time on defense.<\/p>\n
The Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions continue to build their roster for the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n
Defenseman Christopher Inniss has agreed to return to the club, and he is another name who could potentially be invited to the Montreal Canadiens’ 2026 training camp.<\/p>\n
The right-shot defenseman from Longueuil had already signed his first professional contract with the Lions on April 14.<\/p>\n
His first stint was brief.<\/p>\n
He appeared in the final two games of the 2025-26 regular season, just enough to get a taste of the professional level, and he clearly made a strong first impression.<\/p>\n
What the club values in him is clear.<\/p>\n
Inniss brings physicality and a reliable presence in his own zone.<\/p>\n
Before making the jump to the professional ranks, he spent four years in university hockey.<\/p>\n
Playing for Concordia, he recorded 24 points in 104 games.<\/p>\n

His university career was about more than just points.<\/p>\n
He helped the Stingers capture a division championship and reach the USPORTS national final.<\/p>\n
Former QMJHL First-Round Pick Christopher Inniss Eager to Make an Impact With the Lions<\/p>\n
Inniss was selected in the first round of the QMJHL Draft in 2017, reflecting the high expectations placed on him early in his career.<\/p>\n
His junior career took him to several teams.<\/p>\n
He played for the Rimouski Oc\u00e9anic, the Saint John Sea Dogs, and the Chicoutimi Saguen\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n
His final junior season was his most productive.<\/p>\n
Named an assistant captain, he posted the best offensive numbers of his career.<\/p>\n
Here’s what he had to say about the signing.<\/p>\n
“I’m very happy to join the Lions, and I can’t wait to contribute to the success of this great organization alongside its dedicated fans,” he said.<\/p>\n
He now joins Anthony Beauregard, Mathias Laferri\u00e8re, Landon Fuller, \u00c9douard Charron, and Jake Gravelle on the roster.<\/p>\n
