We have three signings to announce for the Montreal Canadiens organization.<\/p>\n

The Laval Rocket continue to build their depth for the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens’ AHL affiliate has signed three players over the past few hours.<\/p>\n

Forward Alexander Legkov and defensemen Jacob Dion and Kale McCallum have all agreed to identical contracts.<\/p>\n

Each has signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League contract. McCallum was previously a prospect with the New York Rangers.<\/p>\n

As for Legkov, he is a particularly intriguing name because of his impressive offensive production, even if it came in a lower-tier league.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old recorded 38 goals and 55 assists in 58 games last season in the FPHL, a league far below the American Hockey League in terms of competition, but still an impressive total.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2 left-shot forward played for both Danbury and Pee Dee, where he caught the attention of several scouts.<\/p>\n

Now it remains to be seen how that production will translate at a significantly higher level.<\/p>\n

Jacob Dion, meanwhile, is already familiar with the organization.<\/p>\n

The defenseman from Stoke appeared in five games with the Rocket last season under a professional tryout contract.<\/p>\n

Jacob Dion recorded 32 points in 65 games with the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions in the ECHL.<\/p>\n

Kale McCallum completes the trio of signings.<\/p>\n

The defenseman from Fredericton split last season between two very different levels. He first played in the NCAA with Providence, where he collected 14 points in 31 games.<\/p>\n

He then made the jump to the professional ranks at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

In eight games with the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions, he added six points to his totals.<\/p>\n

These types of signings are primarily intended to strengthen organizational depth, but they are still worth keeping an eye on for the future.<\/p>\n

The real test now awaits each of them at the next training camp.<\/p>\n
