{"id":12938,"date":"2026-04-21T11:06:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T11:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/12938\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T11:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T11:06:09","slug":"government-announces-incremental-increase-in-canada-china-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/12938\/","title":{"rendered":"Government announces incremental increase in Canada-China flights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\t\t\t\t                <a rel=\"v:url nofollow noopener\" property=\"v:title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Home<\/a> \u203a <a rel=\"v:url nofollow noopener\" property=\"v:title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/category\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\">News<\/a> \u203a Government announces incremental increase in Canada-China flights<\/p>\n<p>By TravelPress Staff <\/p>\n<p class=\"timestamp updated\">April 21, 2026<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-179128\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/china-unsplash_1023x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1023\" height=\"768\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s Minister of Transport, Steven MacKinnon has announced \u201can incremental increase\u201d to the number of direct flights permitted between Canada and China.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement builds on Prime Minister Mark Carney\u2019s visit to Beijing earlier this year, and the measure delivers on the Canada-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Roadmap and supports the renewal of Canada\u2019s economic relationship with China.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian and Chinese airlines are now permitted:<\/p>\n<p>To incrementally increase direct passenger-combination flights<br \/>\nUp to 20 all-cargo flights per week<br \/>\nReciprocal access to all points in each country<\/p>\n<p>In making the announcement, MacKinnon, who is also Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, said: \u201cIncreasing passenger and cargo flights with China is a very positive step towards our trade diversification goals while also reinforcing our strong people-to-people ties.
