People downtown are loving the stunt \u2014 calling it \u201ccrazy\u201d and \u201cunpredictable\u201d \u2014 and it\u2019s only building more hype, with many guessing the album could drop within the week or by the end of the month.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a lot of hometown pride in the crowd, too \u2014 fans say they\u2019re rooting for \u201cthe home team,\u201d with some hoping for a solo Drake album and others wanting big-name features.<\/p>\n

Following the Downsview Park explosion, this ice block doesn\u2019t fall short of impressive.<\/p>\n \u201c[On Sunday] there was a big sign that said the whole street is closed for Iceman. Like you\u2019re doing all this promo. I was like, \u2018Oh, there\u2019s gonna be so much traffic.\u2019 But then I\u2019m seeing this, and I\u2019m like okay, I\u2019ll excuse it for a little bit,\u201d Pran said.<\/p>\n After all, Pran admires Drake, questioning, \u201cHow can you not love Drake?\u201d<\/p>\n But there\u2019s no bigger fan than Torontonian Ky. His love for Drake goes so far that he hopes Drake\u2019s album has zero featured artists. \u201cI hope he just does his own thing. I hope it\u2019s just Drake. Hope he brings the heat the people want to hear. Just solo dolo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Other Torontonians love Drake too, but hope to hear a variety of artists on the tracks, including Summer Walker, SZA, 21 Savage, PARTYNEXTDOOR, ASAP Rocky, Yeat, and Future.<\/p>\n Toronto resident Alondra shares she\u2019s so excited for the anticipated album to come out that she\u2019s been listening to the last one \u201clike every day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The rapper\u2019s recent antics, she says, are definitely keeping the hype going. \u201c[Drake\u2019s] always crazy, unpredictable. You can always expect big things, but I like it,\u201d Alondra said.<\/p>\n Another Torontonian, Mason, shared that the album can\u2019t come at a better time. \u201cIt\u2019s playoff time in Toronto for the Raptors, so we need some new music to help carry us to the finals again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mason thinks this album will be the next big thing.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s gonna blow up. It\u2019s gonna go crazy. He\u2019s going all out for this one, so you know it\u2019s about to be a good one,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Many Torontonians think the release date will be within the month.<\/p>\n Alondra hopes by the end of the week and Mason, too. \u201cI got a good feeling about seven days,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Another Toronto resident, Oisin, believes it\u2019ll be within 30 days.<\/p>\n Whether the release is sooner than later, Toronto clearly loves Drake. It\u2019s everything that we want it to be, so we gotta root for the home team,\u201d Ky said.<\/p>\n
