Police say one location was struck by gunfire and a window was broken at another; no injuries were reported<\/p>\n
Toronto police are investigating after a window at Kiva’s Bagel Bar, a\u00a0Jewish-owned bakery chain was reportedly struck by gunfire on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Police said they responded at about 8:15 a.m. to the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue West area after receiving reports that a window of a bakery had been struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n
Evidence of a firearm discharge was found at the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

About 20 minutes later, police responded to another Kiva’s location in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area for reports of a broken window.<\/p>\n Police said no evidence of a firearm discharge was found and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n Duty Insp. Scott Bradbury said police have not determined whether the two incidents are connected.<\/p>\n \u201cRight now we don\u2019t know what the connection is, other than it\u2019s the same Jewish-owned business chain and that it happened sometime overnight,\u201d Bradbury said.<\/p>\n Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow condemned the incidents on social media<\/a>, calling the \u201ctargeted attacks on two Jewish-owned Kiva\u2019s Bagel Bar locations\u201d vile and unacceptable.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all have a responsibility to stand against hate,\u201d Chow wrote. \u201cI will always stand with Toronto\u2019s Jewish community against antisemitism.\u201d<\/p>\n
