{"id":146634,"date":"2026-07-28T13:20:22","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T13:20:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/146634\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T13:20:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T13:20:22","slug":"netflix-sets-theatrical-release-for-venice-title-possible-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/146634\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix Sets Theatrical Release For Venice Title \u2018Possible Love\u2019\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/netflix\/\" id=\"auto-tag_netflix\" data-tag=\"netflix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix<\/a> has confirmed that Possible Love, directed by Korean auteur <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lee-chang-dong\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lee-chang-dong\" data-tag=\"lee-chang-dong\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lee Chang-dong<\/a>, will receive a theatrical release in Korea, U.S. and other select territories following its premiere at the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/venice\/\" id=\"auto-tag_venice\" data-tag=\"venice\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Venice<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/toronto\/\" id=\"auto-tag_toronto\" data-tag=\"toronto\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto<\/a> film festivals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film will open in Korean theatres on September 23, followed by Australia on October 22, and the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland and Japan on October 23. It will then be streamed worldwide on Netflix from November 6.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe theatrical release dates suggest that Netflix will be giving the film an awards push as it will qualify for the Best International Feature category at next year\u2019s Academy Awards, as well as for other categories. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film will premiere in competition at this year\u2019s Venice film festival and has also been selected for the Special Presentations section of Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLee\u2019s first film in eight years, Possible Love follows two married couples \u2013 a laid-off worker and his wife, and a documentary filmmaker and her husband \u2013 whose paths cross when the filmmaker sets out to film them, bringing both marriages face to face with their different lives and hidden desires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCo-produced by Anonymous Content and Korea\u2019s NOWFILM and Pinehouse Film, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Jeon Do-yeon, who previously worked with Lee on Secret Sunshine (2007), Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLee\u2019s 2018 Burning won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes film festival and became the first Korean film shortlisted for an Oscar in the international feature category.
