The PQ currently holds one seat on the island: Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/provincial-news\/provincial-politics\/pq-blue-book-independent-quebec-army-protect-anglo-school-boards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Paul St-Pierre Plamondon<\/a> is the MNA for the riding of Camille-Laurin. The party holds seven seats in the National Assemnbly<\/p>\n<p>The news of Lefebvre\u2019s return to provincial politics was reported Monday by TVA, the network where Lefebvre works as a political analyst.<\/p>\n<p>Neither the party nor Lefebvre would confirm the report, but TVA said the PQ will announce the return of Lefevbre in August.<\/p>\n<p>The high-profile Lefebvre could help the PQ regain ground in Montreal, which are nearly all held by the Liberals.<\/p>\n<p>In 2004, <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/montreal-presents-new-bylaw-on-wood-burning-stoves-and-fireplaces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Lefebvre was elected the PQ MNA<\/a> for the Montreal riding of Laurier-Dorion in a by-election. At 25, she became the youngest woman ever elected to the Quebec legislature.<\/p>\n<p>She lost that title 10 years later when <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/longueuil-mayor-catherine-fournier-gives-birth-to-a-boy\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/longueuil-mayor-catherine-fournier-gives-birth-to-a-boy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Catherine Fournier<\/a>, now the mayor of Longueuil, was elected under the PQ banner at age 24.<\/p>\n<p>Lefebvre lost her bid for re-election in 2007 to the Liberal candidate. She then made a <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/city-councillor-elsie-lefebvre-joins-denis-coderres-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">foray into the municipal scene under the Vision Montreal and Coalition Montreal banner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She represented <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lapresse.ca\/actualites\/regional\/montreal\/200908\/19\/01-893936-elsie-lefebvre-candidate-dans-villeray.php\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.lapresse.ca\/actualites\/regional\/montreal\/200908\/19\/01-893936-elsie-lefebvre-candidate-dans-villeray.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Villeray district from 2009 to 2017<\/a>. She was defeated in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Now 47, Lefebvre has been a panelist on the popular TVA political show La Joute since 2020. She also produces columns for the Journal de Montr\u00e9al.
