As a result, Ottawa airport set a new record for its wettest month ever recorded (259.9 mm as of July 28), breaking its previous July 2017 record.<\/p>\n<p>DON&#8217;T MISS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theweathernetwork.com\/en\/news\/weather\/seasonal\/fredrick-reyes-how-seasonal-shifts-impact-the-music-you-listen-to\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">How the weather could be influencing your music taste<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once again, the Ottawa and southern Quebec region may see another day of wet, stormy weather on Wednesday. As a result of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, torrential rain and localized flooding risks are forecast in parts of southern Quebec.<\/p>\n<p><img url=\"\/\/images.twnmm.com\/c55i45ef3o2a\/7d38bbugz52sMPPv5O4W8k\/b42e8e6ba3956996e235814b43b64afb\/image2.png\" alt=\"Ontario precipitation timing Wednesday afternoon\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"fill\" style=\"position:absolute;height:100%;width:100%;left:0;top:0;right:0;bottom:0;object-fit:contain;object-position:center center;color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1785325987_801_image2.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The most serious danger will be if storms frequently pass over the same locations, causing rainfall totals to rapidly rise. Localized flooding, low visibility and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theweathernetwork.com\/en\/news\/lifestyle\/travel\/more-dangerous-than-snow-why-driving-in-the-rain-is-a-bigger-hazard\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">dangerous driving conditions<\/a> are all conceivable.<\/p>\n<p>More rainfall and storms on Wednesday<\/p>\n<p>Showers and heavy rainfall may continue into Wednesday and Thursday, with an increasing chance of lingering, light precipitation during the latter. While it will feel muggy outside, temperatures will actually be at or below seasonal.<\/p>\n<p>Thunderstorms will also be possible again. Severe storms will remain east of the low in a south to north direction.
