With two days remaining at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, Canada has enjoyed an impressive showing in athletics, collecting 11 medals.<\/p>\n

Canada is tied with Australia for the most athletics medals at the Games, with a total of four gold, four silver and three bronze.<\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s throwers have played a major role in that success, led by reigning Olympic champions Ethan Katzberg<\/a> and Camryn Rogers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Katzberg captured gold in the men\u2019s hammer throw with the only throw to surpass 80 metres (80.97 m).<\/p>\n

Recorded on his opening attempt, the throw also established a new Commonwealth Games record.<\/p>\n

Fellow Canadian Rowan Hamilton<\/a> also reached the podium, earning bronze with a throw of 75.36 m.<\/p>\n

Cyprus\u2019 Iosif Kesidis claimed the silver medal with a throw of 76.97 m.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s event, Rogers also set a new Commonwealth Games record on her way to gold with a throw of 74.91 m.<\/p>\n

New Zealand\u2019s Lauren Bruce (69.82 m) took silver, while Australia\u2019s Lara Roberts (68.05 m) earned bronze.<\/p>\n

Sarah Mitton<\/a> added another gold for Canada in the women\u2019s shot put with a throw of 19.88 m, finishing ahead of Nigeria\u2019s Jessica Oji and Jamaica\u2019s Lloydricia Cameron, who both recorded throws of 17.87 m.<\/p>\n

Julia Tunks also came close to winning gold in the women\u2019s discus throw but ultimately settled for silver.<\/p>\n

Her throw of 60.67 m was surpassed only by Jamaica\u2019s Samantha Hall (61.66 m), while India\u2019s Seema Kaliramna (58.65 m) claimed bronze.<\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s medal haul also continued in para athletics. Sheriauna Haase and Chloe Dunbar captured gold and silver, respectively, in the women\u2019s T47 100 m. Michael Barber added silver in the men\u2019s T20 1500 m, while Noah Vucsics earned silver in the men\u2019s T20 long jump. George Quarcoo (men\u2019s T12 100 m) and Zachary Gingras (men\u2019s T38 100 m) each claimed bronze.<\/p>\n
