He spent the latest campaign with the National de Qu\u00e9bec, appearing in 18 games.<\/p>\n<p>He also has ECHL experience.<\/p>\n<p>The goaltender made his professional debut in that league, tending the crease for the Wichita Thunder on January 25, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>His junior career unfolded in the QMJHL.<\/p>\n<p>After two seasons with the Sherbrooke Phoenix, he completed his junior career with the Rimouski Oc\u00e9anic.<\/p>\n<p>His QMJHL numbers are impressive.<\/p>\n<p>In 81 regular season games, he posted a 48-24-7 record, a 2.67 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>Years of steady development have led him to the Canadiens&#8217; system<\/p>\n<p>One of his best seasons came in 2022-23 with the Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>The Beauce native posted an 21-5-3 record, a 2.30 goals-against average and one shutout.<\/p>\n<p>Those performances didn&#8217;t go unnoticed.<\/p>\n<p>They earned him a nomination for the Patrick Roy Trophy, awarded to the QMJHL&#8217;s top goaltender.<\/p>\n<p>That same year, he also represented Canada at the World Junior Championship.<\/p>\n<p>It was an honour that reflected the potential evaluators saw in the young goaltender.<\/p>\n<p>His talent also caught the NHL&#8217;s attention.<\/p>\n<p>St-Hilaire took part in rookie camps with the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs, followed by the Los Angeles Kings the next year.<\/p>\n<p>Returning home fills him with pride.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Getting the chance to play professionally at home isn&#8217;t something everyone gets to experience,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He joins a group that already includes Anthony Beauregard, Sean Gulka and Vincent Nardone.<\/p>\n<p>Another goaltender has now been added to the Montreal Canadiens&#8217; organizational depth between the pipes.<\/p>\n<p>Previously on Montreal Hockey Fanatics<\/p>\n<p>POLL<\/p>\n<p>18 HOURS AGO|434 ANSWERS<\/p>\n<p>Montreal Canadiens organization signs promising 22-year-old goaltender<\/p>\n<p>Who will be the Montreal Canadiens&#8217; backup goaltender to start the season?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; &#13; &#13; Photo credit: Screenshot We have an acquisition to report within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
