The multi-purpose icebreaker will return to the Baltic Sea before the start of the icebreaking season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Icebreaking is a key component of Finland\u2019s critical infrastructure. Its main function is to ensure that Finland\u2019s foreign trade and winter navigation can continue without interruption in all circumstances year round. Icebreaking ensures the continuity of critical transports and supports military mobility.<\/p>\n
Finland has been deepening icebreaker cooperation with its key allies. Finland also works closely with the United States and Canada through the ICE Pact cooperation agreement.<\/p>\n
