A decade after serving as GNR’s opening act, the country singer appears onstage with Axl Rose, Slash, and company<\/p>\n
\n\tA decade after Chris Stapleton<\/a> first served as Guns N\u2019 Roses\u2019 opening act<\/a>, the country singer joined the band onstage during their Toronto concert Wednesday to perform \u201cKnockin\u2019 on Heaven\u2019s Door.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tStapleton and Axl Rose shared lead vocals on GNR\u2019s rendition of the Bob Dylan classic, with Stapleton \n\tRoughly a decade ago, Stapleton served as Guns N\u2019 Roses one-off opener<\/a> at the band\u2019s concert at Nashville\u2019s Nissan Stadium concert in July 2016. \u201cWhen I was a kid, if you\u2019d have told me I\u2019d be up here playing before Guns N\u2019 Roses, I\u2019d have called you a liar,\u201d Stapleton told the crowd that night.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tIn addition to winning over GNR fans, Stapleton was also \u201csummoned\u201d backstage to meet Rose himself, who he called \u201ca gentleman.\u201d \u201c[Rose] was great. Very polite and gracious and we got to say hi for a few minutes,\u201d Stapleton told Rolling Stone<\/a> in July 2016. \u201cI\u2019m sure he was tired and had to go get cleaned up before the buses or planes rolled out, but he was a gentleman and we had a brief conversation about music and both went on our way.
