Rush<\/a> have confirmed they are capturing all four of their homecoming shows in Toronto for a new concert film.<\/p>\n In June, Rush kicked off their 50 Something Tour with four shows at the Kia Forum<\/a> in Inglewood, California, and have since visited Mexico City, Fort Worth, New York and Chicago, performing for multiple nights in each city.<\/p>\n The tour, which is their first in 11 years and\u00a0first without their late drummer Neil Peart<\/a>, is set to stay on the road in North America until December.<\/p>\n Tonight (August 7th), they are finally back on home territory, beginning their residency at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.<\/p>\n Rush will perform a total of four shows over the next week, with the final concert set to take place on August 13th. However, if you haven\u2019t got a ticket, then don\u2019t fear because it is all going to be filmed for a future concert film.<\/p>\n Taking to Instagram, Geddy Lee explained why they chose Toronto, \u201cIt\u2019s always a hard decision as to where to film a live concert. Given the limited cities we are able to play, the demand for such a film has been off the charts, not only as a keepsake of their experience, but for those many fans that have not been able to see it live.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cToronto being hometown made it a natural choice, and being the last mini-residency of 4 shows, playing over 40 songs which gives us the best chance to capture it all.\u201d<\/p>\n The bassist acknowledged that \u201cfans traveling here from all across the globe and that will make it a special week\u201d in Toronto, before noting, \u201cThis tour, being a celebration of our history and a tribute to Neil has been an emotional outpouring from the fans and from us.\u201d<\/p>\n Lee then had a message for fans, urging, \u201cThey have been louder and prouder than ever before, and we hope to capture them letting their ya-yas out while rockin\u2019 their best \u2018Tom Sawyer\u2019 air drum fills!\u201d<\/p>\n After their North American tour concludes, Rush will then keep the good times rolling throughout 2027 as they take the\u00a0tour international,<\/a>\u00a0with visits lined up to Argentina, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, earlier this week, Canadian broadcaster CBC announced the documentary, Neil Peart: No One\u2019s Disciple<\/a>, which promises to see his Rush bandmates, Lee and Alex Lifeson, deliver \u201cintimate heart-to-hearts\u201d while remembering their late friend.<\/p>\n The documentary is scheduled to arrive on September 23rd.<\/p>\n
