background: #e52237;\" href=\"https:\/\/canadavisaplus.com\/assessment?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479&amp;utm_content=Assess+your+eligibility+for+enhanced+PNP+streams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-utm-content=\"Assess your eligibility for enhanced PNP streams\">Assess your eligibility for enhanced PNP streams<br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This selection round comes just a week after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-provincial-nominee-program.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OINP<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2026\/04\/ontario-extends-more-than-1300-invitations-to-candidates-working-in-priority-occupations-0474219.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">April 15 draw<\/a> targeting workers in priority and agriculture-related occupations.<\/p>\n<p>Draw details<\/p>\n<p>A total of 918 invitations to apply (ITAs) were extended to candidates who completed a master\u2019s or PhD degree at an Ontario university.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the invitations (approximately 73.4%) were issued through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-masters-graduate-stream.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Master\u2019s Graduate Stream<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The number of invitations issued, as well as the minimum score required, varied by stream:<\/p>\n<p>\tStreamInvitations issuedCutoff score<\/p>\n<p>\tMaster\u2019s Graduate Stream67461<\/p>\n<p>\tPhD Graduate Stream24456<\/p>\n<p>Candidates must have created their profile between April 22, 2025, and April 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. to have been considered.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the OINP\u2019s first selection round of the year (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2026\/03\/ontario-masters-and-phd-graduates-selected-for-provincial-immigration-for-first-time-since-2024-0373137.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 18<\/a>) targeting master\u2019s and PhD graduates, this latest round did not require individuals to have experience in any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/noc2021.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Occupational Classification<\/a> (NOC) code to qualify.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to the March 18 draw, cutoff scores were higher under each stream:<\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s Graduate Stream: 30 (March 18) versus 61 (April 22)\u201431 point difference.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-phd-graduate-stream.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PhD Graduate Stream<\/a>: 49 (March 18) versus 49 (April 22)\u20147 point difference.<\/p>\n<p>These increases point to a more competitive selection round, potentially due to more candidates with strong scores entering the pool following the March 18 draw.<\/p>\n<p>This latest draw marks only the second issuance of invitations through these two streams since selection was paused for over a year; prior to March 18, the last time the OINP held a draw under either stream was on September 17, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Next steps after receiving an invitation<\/p>\n<p>After getting an invitation, you must log into the OINP e-Filing Portal and click the newly created file number with the prefix \u201cNMAS\u201d or \u201cNPHD\u201d depending on the applicable stream.<\/p>\n<p>You will have 14 calendar days from the date of ITA receipt to submit a complete application for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/base-and-enhanced-provincial-nominations.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">provincial nomination<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Per the Master\u2019s Graduate and PhD Graduate stream requirements, there is a two-year eligibility window to submit an application for provincial nomination after completing your degree (not from the date of ITA receipt). For example, if your degree is dated June 1, 2022, all steps of the process must be completed by June 1, 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If your degree was obtained more than two years ago when you go to apply, you should decline your ITA.<\/p>\n<p>Once you receive a provincial nomination, you may apply to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ircc.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada<\/a> (IRCC) for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-immigration-residency-obligations.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">permanent residence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Upcoming changes to the OINP<\/p>\n<p>These draws come as Ontario moves toward a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2026\/03\/breaking-ontario-plans-to-overhaul-immigration-streams-by-end-of-may-2026-0373025.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-19_ontario-masters-and-phd-graduates-selected-for-provincial-immigration-for-first-time-since-2024_73137?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-22_ontario-invites-over-900-masters-and-phd-graduates-to-apply-for-provincial-nomination_74479\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">major restructuring of its immigration system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent amendments to the Ontario Immigration Act detail the elimination of the existing application categories (streams), encompassing the<\/p>\n<p>Foreign worker category;<br \/>\nInternational student with a job offer category;<br \/>\nIn-demand skills category;<br \/>\nMaster\u2019s Graduate category;<br \/>\nPhD Graduate category;<br \/>\nHuman Capital Priorities category;<br \/>\nFrench-speaking skilled worker category;<br \/>\nSkilled trades category; and<br \/>\nEntrepreneur category.<\/p>\n<p>These changes are set to take effect on May 30, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In their place, Ontario has proposed four streamlined pathways: a consolidated Employer: Job Offer stream, a priority healthcare stream, an entrepreneur stream and an exceptional talent stream.<\/p>\n<p>Specific details on the implementation and timelines of these proposed streams have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"bottom-btn\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"color: #ffffff;
