{"id":162071,"date":"2026-08-09T23:27:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/162071\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T23:27:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:27:11","slug":"injured-red-sox-trade-acquisition-set-to-travel-with-team-to-toronto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/162071\/","title":{"rendered":"Injured Red Sox trade acquisition set to travel with team to Toronto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a two-game rehab stint at Triple-A Worcester, it appears Adley Rutschman\u2019s return to the active roster could be imminent.<\/p>\n<p>Following Sunday\u2019s 4-3 loss Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy announced that the three-time All-Star will be traveling with the team on its upcoming road trip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdley is traveling with us, yeah,\u201d Tracy said. \u201cHe\u2019s going to have a workout day with us tomorrow, we\u2019ll assess and see how he feels and go from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rutschman was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles at last Monday\u2019s trade deadline and has spent his first week with the club working his way back from a pre-existing left wrist injury that has sidelined him since July 20. He began his rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester on Saturday and in two games with the WooSox went 1 for 5 with two runs, two RBI, two walks and a double.<\/p>\n<p>Though Tracy said Rutschman won\u2019t be activated on Monday, if all goes well it appears likely he could make his Red Sox debut at some point during this week\u2019s four-game series in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy also declined to speculate on how the roster might change to accommodate Rutschman and whether the club would consider carrying three catchers.
