Thousands of Edmontonians’ ears are likely still ringing the day after AC\/DC’s boisterous Sunday concert at Commonwealth Stadium.<\/p>\n
In a Monday news release, the City of Edmonton hailed the concert as an all-around success.<\/p>\n
“Edmonton fans are always incredible for showing up, especially with this summer’s unpredictable weather,” said Heather Seutter, director, Commonwealth Stadium. “We are very excited that Edmonton was chosen to host AC\/DC’s PWR Up Tour. These mega stadium tours and world-class artists choosing Edmonton as a stop on their tours have an incredible impact on our city. Concerts like these bring tremendous energy and excitement to Edmonton, while delivering meaningful benefits to our local economy and strengthening our cultural vibrancy.<\/p>\n
“They attract visitors from near and far, support local businesses, create jobs and bring people together to share unforgettable experiences. It’s exciting to see Edmonton continue to shine as a premier destination for major concerts and world-class entertainment.”<\/p>\n
The city also touted in the release the numbers associated with running a concert of that size.<\/p>\n

Staffing: Approximately 510 security guards, 115 ushers and customer service staff and 125 City of Edmonton event staff. More than 150 merchandise sellers and 800 concession and food service providers were also onsite, in addition to Edmonton Police Service (EPS), Edmonton Transit Service (ETS), emergency medical and first aid personnel and transit peace officers.<\/p>\n
