Initial plans for an up-to-650-home development on both sides of the A3 have been submitted for consideration.<\/p>\n
The proposed development, which would be linked by a bridge, comprises several parcels of land both north and south of the Esher Bypass, including Chippings Farm on Elvedon Road.<\/p>\n
According to a report prepared on behalf of applicants Cala Management Limited and Burhill Developments Limited, the proposal also includes commercial space and open space to the north of the A3.<\/p>\n
Elmbridge Borough is expected to respond to the plans by the start of September.<\/p>\n
The report details three area for the proposed development.<\/p>\n
The private Elveden Road runs through the southern parcel, which is bound by the Fairmile pub and Premier Inn hotel, and the Old Common Local Nature.<\/p>\n
The Norwood Farm landfill sits within the northern parcel, while the eastern parcel of the site borders Elveden Road.<\/p>\n
Any development would be up to a maximum of three storeys to reduce the potential visual impacts, while primary access would be provided via Elveden Road connecting directly to Portsmouth Road.<\/p>\n
Should the proposal proceed, construction would begin in July 2028 with the development completed by January 2035.<\/p>\n
