{"id":165759,"date":"2026-08-12T22:00:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T22:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/165759\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T22:00:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T22:00:49","slug":"two-dfo-officers-injured-in-incident-between-vessel-and-humpback-whale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/165759\/","title":{"rendered":"Two DFO officers injured in \u2018incident\u2019 between vessel and humpback whale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) officers were injured in an \u201cincident\u201d between a DFO vessel and a humpback whale along B.C.\u2019s coast this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident occurred near Calvert Island, about 100 kilometres north of Port Hardy, on Aug. 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watch the story below:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe animal involved in the incident has not yet been identified,\u201d said Fisheries and Oceans Canada in a statement to CHEK News Tuesday. \u201cDFO is working with partners in the B.C.
