{"id":167227,"date":"2026-08-13T22:33:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T22:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/167227\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T22:33:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T22:33:07","slug":"funding-friday-millions-flying-from-australia-to-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/167227\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Friday: Millions flying from Australia to Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this week\u2019s edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/?s=funding+friday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Funding Friday<\/a>, several mining companies have secured financial backing, led by a major civil infrastructure contract awarded to a mining services company.<\/p>\n<p>Mining and civil infrastructure services company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macmahon.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Macmahon Holdings<\/a> (ASX:MAH) says its wholly owned subsidiary Decmil secured a $50 million early works package.<\/p>\n<p>The package will pave the way for major construction on the Elizabeth Drive and Mamre Road upgrades, as well as the Archbold Road extension. <\/p>\n<p>Construction is expected to benefit more than 70,000 motorists who use the roads each day and support the proposed Western Sydney Heavy Vehicle Rest Area in the Western Sydney Employment Area. <\/p>\n<p>Macmahon will widen approximately 6m of Mamre Road to offer two lanes in each direction, along with reconstructing the Bill Anderson Reserve car park, constructing a local road between Clifton Avenue and Salisbury Avenue at Kemps Creek, and extending Archbold Road by 550m. <\/p>\n<p>The project is expected to support current and future traffic demand, reduce congestion, and improve safety and travel times. <\/p>\n<p>Macmahon CEO Michael Finnegan says the contract \u201crepresents an important milestone for Macmahon\u201d as the company expands and strengthens its presence in the New South Wales market. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecuring this project with Transport for NSW signifies our commitment to a highly valued client and demonstrates our capability to deliver this important civil infrastructure project for the people of New South Wales,\u201d Finnegan says. <\/p>\n<p>Macmahon has extensive experience in surface and underground mining and civil infrastructure, delivering resources, non-resources, public infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n<p>Two days before securing the contract, Macmahon\u2019s subsidiary Macmillan New Zealand <a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/macmahon-subsidiary-wins-406-million-underground-mining-contract\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">secured<\/a> a $406.2 million underground mining services contract at the Snowy River Gold Project in New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>The five-year contract starts in October 2026 and covers mine development, production, and backfill operations near Reefton on New Zealand\u2019s South Island.<\/p>\n<p>The Snowy River Project is operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/enduramining.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Endura Mining<\/a> subsidiary Tasman Mining.<\/p>\n<p>Snowy River is expected to achieve first <a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/golds-quarter-from-safe-haven-to-new-discoveries\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gold<\/a> production in December 2026, with the underground deposit projected to produce between 50,000 and 60,000 ounces annually over a mine life exceeding 10 years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/company\/macmahon-holdings-limited\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Macmahon Holdings<\/a> provides mining and civil infrastructure services across Australia and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.podiumminerals.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Podium Minerals<\/a> (ASX:POD) has launched a $4 million share purchase plan (SPP) to fund metallurgical testing, site works, project advancement, and corporate costs.<\/p>\n<p>The SPP is underwritten by Leeuwin Wealth and non-executive Chairman Neal Froneman will sub-underwrite $200,000 of the offer. <\/p>\n<p>Shares will be issued at $0.034 each, representing a 17.8% discount to the five-day volume weighted average price.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/PR3.jpeg\" alt=\"Podium Minerals Parks Reef Project\" class=\"wp-image-195327 lazyload\" style=\"width:429px;height:auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Proceeds will fund continued test work on mineralised zones, mineralogy and sighter tests on deep-hole cores, and specialist in-house analytical equipment. <\/p>\n<p>Funds will also support rehabilitation and site works at Parks Reef near Meekatharra and Range Well in Western Australia.
