VANCOUVER, BC \u2013 Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on\u00a0Thursday\u00a0that the club has signed\u00a0Canadian international defender Ralph Priso\u00a0to a contract extension through\u00a0the 2028-29 Major League Soccer season, with a club\u00a0option\u00a0for the 2029-30 season.<\/p>\n

So far in 2026, Priso has started nine of his 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring once. The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakout year in 2025 with the \u2018Caps, as he started 25 of his 46 appearances across all competitions, which included a stretch of seven starts in the final eight matches of the season. Priso showed his versatility during that stretch as he converted from midfield into a centre back role and scored his first goal for the club with a dramatic, last-gasp equalizer at FC Dallas on November 1 in the second match of the MLS Cup Playoffs Round One, Best-Of-3 Series. Priso also recorded three assists throughout the year.<\/p>\n
All-time, Priso has started 42 of his 79 appearances across all competitions for Whitecaps FC since joining the club via trade from Colorado Rapids in March 2024. He is also a two-time TELUS Canadian Championship winner with the ‘Caps.<\/p>\n
Priso\u2019s success in Vancouver has earned him a pair of call-ups to the Canadian men\u2019s national team, making his\u00a0debut in a friendly against Iceland in March and then receiving his\u00a0first official\u00a0start against Tunisia\u00a0in the same window. He also came\u00a0off the bench in\u00a0a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan on June 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n
