The Ottawa Redblacks officially have the longest losing streak in the modern history of the Canadian Football League.<\/p>\n

The team lost to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 33-21 at Princess Auto Stadium on Friday night, extending their losing streak to 15 regular-season games. The club last won on Sept. 5, 2025 in a 34-33 victory over the B.C. Lions.<\/p>\n

The previous record belonged to the Shreveport Pirates, who lost 14 games to open their inaugural season in 1994. The club folded one year later with an all-time record of 8-28.<\/p>\n

According to the CFL\u2019s record book, there are two longer losing streaks on file, though both occurred before the league was formally incorporated in 1958.<\/p>\n

Ottawa lost 25 straight games from 1928 to 1932, a run that included four consecutive 0-6 seasons. The team was known as the Senators until 1930, after which it readopted the Rough Riders name it previously used from 1898 to 1913.<\/p>\n

The Hamilton Wildcats lost 16 consecutive games from 1948 to 1949, which included an 0-12 the latter year. The team merged with the Hamilton Tigers the following season to form the Tiger-Cats.<\/p>\n
