ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) \u2014 Two beluga whales rescued from a shuttered Canadian zoo have arrived at Downtown Atlanta\u2019s Georgia Aquarium! <\/p>\n

Zephyr, 7, and Balor, 10, are now in the habitat and have met the four other beluga whales, the aquarium said. <\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we do now is at their pace – they will begin discovering their new surroundings and getting all the care (and fish!) they need,\u201d officials said in a social media post on Thursday. <\/p>\n

The whales came from Marineland of Canada, which closed in 2024 due to a financial crisis and could no longer care for them. <\/p>\n

The other belugas are going to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, SeaWorld San Antonio and San Diego and Spain\u2019s Oceanografic Valencia.<\/p>\n
