A 21-year-old daycare employee has been charged in connection to a sexual assault case at a west Edmonton daycare facility.<\/p>\n
On April 8, a parent called police to report an incident involving their child at a west Edmonton daycare. Through an investigation by officers, police identified a teaching assistant as the suspect in the case. He was subsequently suspended by the employer and his childcare certification was suspended, said police in a Tuesday news release.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, officers arrested and charged Kulraj Singh, 21 with sexual assault and sexual interference.<\/p>\n
Singh was released on bail with conditions, including having zero contact with the complainant, he can\u2019t attend public swimming pools, schools or school yards, daycares, playgrounds, libraries or youth shelters, unless he\u2019s accompanied by a sober adult who is aware of his charges, said police.<\/p>\n
He also can\u2019t seek or maintain any position of trust or authority over any child under the age of 16.<\/p>\n
Police believe there may be more complainants, and said that Singh has also previously worked at a second daycare in central Edmonton.<\/p>\n
Police as asking anyone who may have been in contact with Singh and have information to come forward and can contact police at 780-423-4567.<\/p>\n
