We may not have seen the last of Brendon Little in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform this season.<\/p>\n
Little has had a rough go of things in Toronto dating all the way back to last year’s postseason. He not only took plenty of heat for blowing Game 5 of the ALCS versus the Seattle Mariners, but also gave up the game-winning home run in the 18th inning in Game 3 of the World Series versus the LA Dodgers.<\/p>\n
Little’s struggles in the postseason seemed to ruin his confidence, as he had a nightmarish start to 2026, posting a 24.55 ERA through 3.2 innings before being optioned to Triple-A Buffalo<\/a>. Many fans were ready to be done with him for good, but it’s starting to look more and more likely that we will see him in the Jays pen again, perhaps sooner than later.<\/p>\n The 29-year-old is starting to find his stride\u00a0since joining the Buffalo Bisons. He has pitched seven innings, during which time he’s given up zero earned runs and just four hits. \u00a0<\/p>\n The Blue Jays aren’t going to want to rush Little back into the lineup before he’s ready, but if he continues on this pace much longer, he should receive another opportunity. It’s worth noting that he was quite good for the Blue Jays throughout the 2025 regular season, posting a 3.03 ERA through 68.1 innings.\u00a0<\/p>\n Also boding well for Little’s chances of rejoining the Blue Jays is that they could use another left-handed pitcher in their bullpen. They currently have just two lefty relievers on their roster in Mason Fluharty and Joe Mantiply.\u00a0<\/p>\n Though Little still has a long way\u00a0to go in\u00a0gaining back\u00a0the confidence of Blue Jays fans<\/a>, he appears to be finding his game after what was a very gruelling stretch of play.<\/p>\n Lead photo by <\/p>\n John E.
