With fare capping also coming into effect in September, the more you ride, the less you pay. Most evenings and weekends will be free for people who work five days a week and take the TTC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TTC expects to begin full testing of the Busway in early September to identify and correct any issues before service begins on September 30. Multiple TTC bus routes will use the Busway, offering frequent express service to accommodate the significant passenger demand previously served by Line 3 trains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/events.canplaninc.ca\/esc2026\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"ESC_final (300 x 250 px)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787321409_373_ESC_final-300-x-250-px.jpg\" alt=\"\"   width=\"300\" height=\"250\" style=\"display: inline-block;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTransit riders in Scarborough deserve high-quality, reliable transit service that works for them,\u201d said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers. \u201cThe Busway will serve thousands of TTC customers while the subway extension is being completed and will continue to expand and enhance transit in the city.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since November 2023, the TTC has been operating an interim bus replacement service with full transit priority measures, following the closure of the Line 3 Scarborough RT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are on track to open the Scarborough Busway on September 30, more than six months earlier than originally projected,\u201d said TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali. \u201cThe Busway will provide a fast, reliable connection between Kennedy Station and Scarborough Centre Station, saving riders more than an hour a week on their commute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Scarborough Busway will operate along a four-kilometre section of the former Line 3 corridor. It will begin at Kennedy Station, stopping at Tara Ave.\/Mooregate Ave., Lawrence E. Station, and Ellesmere Station. Buses will then use Ellesmere Rd.\u2019s priority bus infrastructure to connect to Scarborough Town Centre.
