{"id":179659,"date":"2026-08-23T13:31:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T13:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/179659\/"},"modified":"2026-08-23T13:31:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T13:31:11","slug":"ottawa-police-investigating-two-suspicious-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/179659\/","title":{"rendered":"Ottawa police investigating two suspicious deaths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police in Ottawa and Quebec are investigating a pair of suspicious deaths believed to be connected in Ottawa and western Quebec.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a news release, Ottawa police say S\u00fbret\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec (SQ) officers responded to a single-vehicle collision east of Highway 50 near Papineauville, Que. shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A person was located inside the vehicle with injuries \u201cconsidered suspicious in nature.\u201d The person was transported to hospital and died shortly after, police say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As officers investigated, the SQ requested assistance from Ottawa police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Officers went to a home in the 200 block of Guigues Avenue in Lowertown at 11:09 a.m. on Saturday where a second person was found dead. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/C3FEZEC7BJFPXIOFIZ6VCCNICM.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>Suspicious death Investigators were seen entering an apartment building in the 200 block of Guigues Avenue for a suspicious death. (Andrew Adington\/CTV News Ottawa) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Ottawa paramedics previously told CTV News Ottawa the victim in the home was a woman but did not provide further details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police say the identities of the individuals are not being released at this time, pending next of kin notifications.
