The Beer Bar at Time Out Market Montr\u00e9al is shining the spotlight on another favourite local microbrewery this September: Les Grands Bois.<\/p>\n

Based in the small village of Saint-Casimir, in Quebec\u2019s Portneuf region, Les Grands Bois brews its beers inside a former movie theatre\u2014and its eye-catching labels and packaging are every bit as memorable as what\u2019s in the glass.<\/p>\n

What makes Les Grands Bois so special?<\/p>\n

How many microbreweries can say they make top-notch beer on the second floor of a movie theatre dating back to 1946?<\/p>\n

Since 2016, Les Grands Bois has been brewing creative, flavour-forward beers inside this former cinema in the heart of Saint-Casimir. Founded by five local friends looking to breathe new life into their community, the microbrewery grew from a shared passion for beer, plenty of experimentation and inspiration gathered from brewing cultures around the world.<\/p>\n

Today, Les Grands Bois produces a diverse lineup of craft beers using high-quality ingredients, with inventive recipes that continually push the boundaries of Quebec\u2019s brewing scene. The bold, artistic labels are almost as distinctive as the beers themselves.<\/p>\n

The building is also home to the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Grands Bois, Quebec\u2019s largest performance venue affiliated with a microbrewery. Together, the two spaces combine beer and culture, with a program spanning music, performing arts, cinema and visual arts\u2014all while keeping the focus on producing exceptional craft beer.<\/p>\n
