For the second time in five days, Edmonton police are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision.<\/p>\n
Just after 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle in the area of Calgary Trail and Anthony Henday Drive, said police in a Monday news release.<\/p>\n
It was reported that a 2026 Honda CBR650R was travelling westbound on Anthony Henday and was attempting to exit onto the Calgary Trail ramp when the driver, a 22-year-old man, lost control and was ejected from the bike.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews responded and transported the man to hospital, where he died.<\/p>\n
The EPS major collision investigations section is continuing to investigate, but speed is believed to be a factor.<\/p>\n
This marks the second motorcycle fatality of the year<\/a>. On Aug. 19, a 21-year-old man died after a motorcycle collided with an SUV in southeast Edmonton.<\/p>\n “It is incredibly unfortunate that the city’s first two motorcycle fatalities of 2026 have occurred just days apart,” said EPS Staff Sgt. Richard Windover, of the major collision investigations section.<\/p>\n “Our thoughts are with the families, friends and loved ones affected by these tragic losses.
