The incident comes at a time when the World Sikh Organisation of Canada is intensifying efforts to address anti-Sikh discrimination across the country. The organisation is set to host a panel discussion in Surrey alongside the release of its report, Understanding and Addressing Anti-Sikh Hate in Canada, funded by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.<\/p>\n
Based on a survey of more than 1,600 Sikh Canadians, the report finds that 80% believe anti-Sikh hate has increased in recent years, while 65% report experiencing verbal harassment. It identifies racism, xenophobia, and misinformation as key contributing factors.<\/p>\n
