background: #e52237;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/wpteam.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641&amp;&amp;utm_content=Schedule+a+free+consultation+to+learn+about+FMCSP+work+permits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-utm-content=\"Schedule a free consultation to learn about FMCSP work permits\">Schedule a free consultation to learn about FMCSP work permits<br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Those who are accepted and proceed to graduate through the FMCSP will be guaranteed the opportunity to apply directly for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-immigration-residency-obligations.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian PR<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The FMCSP is the only program in Canada that offers incoming international students a guaranteed opportunity to apply for Canadian PR after they graduate.<\/p>\n<p>Graduates of the FMCSP can skip the PR cage match, which is required of other international student graduates who compete for the opportunity to submit a PR application by vying for one of a limited number of annual invitations, awarded at the discretion of the federal or provincial governments.<\/p>\n<p>In the current intake for the FMCSP, up to 2,970 study permit applications will be accepted, with intake running until August 25, 2027, or until the cap is reached.<\/p>\n<p>To obtain PR through the FMCSP, individuals must first obtain an FMCSP-specific study permit, and upon graduation from a participating institution, they are able to apply for PR directly if they meet the required criteria.<\/p>\n<p>French-speaking citizens of the following 33 countries are eligible for an FMCSP study permit:<\/p>\n<p>B\u00e9nin.<br \/>\nBurkina Faso.<br \/>\nBurundi.<br \/>\nCabo Verde.<br \/>\nCameroon.<br \/>\nCentral African Republic.<br \/>\nChad.<br \/>\nComoros.<br \/>\nC\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire.<br \/>\nDemocratic Republic of the Congo.<br \/>\nDominica.<br \/>\nRepublic of the Congo.<br \/>\nDjibouti.<br \/>\nEgypt.<br \/>\nEquatorial Guinea.<br \/>\nGabon.<br \/>\nGuinea.<br \/>\nGuinea-Bissau.<br \/>\nHa\u00efti.<br \/>\nLebanon.<br \/>\nMadagascar.<br \/>\nMali.<br \/>\nMauritania.<br \/>\nMauritius.<br \/>\nMorocco.<br \/>\nNiger.<br \/>\nRwanda.<br \/>\nSaint Lucia.<br \/>\nS\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe.<br \/>\nSenegal.<br \/>\nSeychelles.<br \/>\nTogo.<br \/>\nTunisia.<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility for an FMCSP study permit requires enrolment in a full-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/study-in-canada-options.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">post-secondary program<\/a> lasting a minimum of two years, with at least 50% of instruction in French and a diploma or degree awarded upon completion.<\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-language-benchmark-clb-descriptions.html#:~:text=CLB%205%3A%C2%A0Initial%20Intermediate\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NCLC 5<\/a>, the FMCSP\u2019s minimum French-language requirement is lower than the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-language-benchmark-clb-descriptions.html#:~:text=CLB%207%3A%C2%A0Adequate%20Intermediate?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> NCLC 7<\/a> threshold used for French-language <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Express Entry<\/a> draws.<\/p>\n<p>An FMCSP study permit application must be made from outside Canada and supported by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/letter-of-acceptance-to-a-canadian-designated-learning-institution.html?utm_source=cicnews.com&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=2026-08-26_canada-opens-intake-for-direct-to-pr-pathway-for-francophone-international-students_79641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">letter of acceptance<\/a> from an eligible post-secondary institution stating that the student is applying under the pilot.<\/p>\n<p>Students must also show that they have enough money to cover tuition and living expenses for themselves and any accompanying family members.
