{"id":186959,"date":"2026-08-28T18:18:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T18:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/186959\/"},"modified":"2026-08-28T18:18:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T18:18:14","slug":"cf-montreal-acquire-dante-sealy-from-colorado-rapids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/186959\/","title":{"rendered":"CF Montr\u00e9al acquire Dante Sealy from Colorado Rapids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:\u00a0Trade<\/p>\n<p>MTL receive:\u00a0Dante Sealy<br \/>\nCOL receive: Up to $1.7m GAM<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/clubs\/cf-montreal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CF Montr\u00e9al<\/a>\u00a0have acquired winger\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/players\/dante-sealy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dante Sealy<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/clubs\/colorado-rapids\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Rapids<\/a>, the clubs announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>In exchange for the 23-year-old Trinidad &amp; Tobago international, Colorado receive $1.4 million in guaranteed General Allocation Money (GAM) divided between 2026 ($400,000) and 2027 ($1 million), plus $300,000 in conditional GAM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very pleased to welcome Dante back to CF Montr\u00e9al,\u201d said managing director, recruitment and sporting methodology Luca Saputo. \u201cHis profile and his ability to play multiple positions will bring greater balance to our roster while strengthening its overall depth. Dante is familiar with our working environment, our culture, and many members of our group, which will make his integration seamless and allow him to contribute quickly to our objectives.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Beyond his connection to the club and his desire to return to Montr\u00e9al, we are confident he will bring considerable value to the team, both on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sealy had five assists in 20 regular-season appearances this year for the Rapids, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/news\/colorado-rapids-acquire-dante-sealy-from-cf-montreal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">acquired<\/a> him in December from Montr\u00e9al following a career-best 2025 campaign (9g\/2a in 30 matches).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sealy also featured for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/clubs\/fc-dallas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FC Dallas<\/a> from 2020-24, netting 2g\/1a in 38 MLS appearances.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, Sealy has four goals in 11 matches for Trinidad &amp; Tobago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to thank Dante for his time with the club and wish him the best going forward in his career,\u201d said Rapids president P\u00e1draig Smith.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sealy is Montr\u00e9al&#8217;s second offensive summer signing, following the arrival of Designated Player <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlssoccer.com\/players\/alexis-sanchez\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alexis S\u00e1nchez<\/a>.
