{"id":193381,"date":"2026-09-02T21:35:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T21:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/193381\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T21:35:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T21:35:17","slug":"rio-tinto-chair-dominic-barton-to-lead-canadas-investment-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/193381\/","title":{"rendered":"Rio Tinto chair Dominic Barton to lead Canada\u2019s investment agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/how-to-invest-in-canadian-mining-stocks-from-australia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Canada<\/a> is overhauling the leadership of the federal agency responsible for attracting foreign investment, appointing a familiar name in the mining industry as its new chair.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Mark Carney\u2019s government announced on Monday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riotinto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Rio Tinto<\/a> (ASX:RIO) Chairman Dominic Barton will become chair of Invest in Canada, replacing Karl Tabbakh.<\/p>\n<p>Barton, a former Canadian ambassador to <a href=\"https:\/\/mining.com.au\/tag\/china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">China<\/a>, brings extensive experience across global business, investment, and public service.
