There was a time when I would gladly wear uncomfortable jeans all day, every day. Well, not gladly, per se, but I was a willing-enough participant in the name of fashion. A great pair of jeans never meant comfortable; rather, they were simply flattering enough to warrant hours-long restriction, digging and wedgies.<\/p>\n

However, the days of sucking it in have long passed, largely thanks to comfort-first designs, like Lululemon\u2019s Easyfive Pants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Easyfive collection<\/a> is a sartorial prayer answered for those of us who love the look of denim, but need clothing that doesn’t cut off blood circulation. The pants (mid-rise, high-rise, low-rise and flared styles are available) feature a denim-like look and fit, but retain Lululemon’s famous comfort and subtle stretch.<\/p>\n

The Yahoo Canada shopping team had the opportunity to try on several pairs of Lululemon\u2019s Easyfive Pants<\/a>, and below, we\u2019ve compiled our thoughts on each: are they for-real comfortable, or does the search for the perfect pants continue? Here are our thoughts.<\/p>\n

First things first \u2014 here’s what makes them unique<\/p>\n

These EasyFive Pants<\/a> are crafted from a structured, denim-like fabric that features a touch of stretch for already broken-in comfort.<\/p>\n

Like your favourite pair of jeans, the pants feature two back pockets, two front pockets and one coin pocket. They’re happy in the washing machine and are designed to fade slightly with repeated wear and washes.<\/p>\n

These cool-girl low-rise pants are made from a denim-like cotton-blend, Utilitech twill fabric with a hint of stretch. Shop them in five colours and three pant lengths: 28″, 31″ and 34″.<\/p>\n

How they fit:\"<a<\/a><\/p>\n

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I shimmied my booty into these EasyFive Low-Rise Classic Wide-Leg Pants \u2014 very pleasantly surprised! I typically wear a size six and opted for a size 27 in the bottoms. They fit me like a glove, but more as a mid-rise than a low-rise. For a true low-rise fit, I wish I had sized up to a 28 or a 29.<\/p>\n

Comfort-wise, I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re legging-like, however, they’re definitely more comfortable than a 100 per cent cotton jean. They’re stretchy but rigid enough that you could wear them to the office or in dressier settings.<\/p>\n

Additionally, I like the ivory colour I got, but I wish there were a true white option as well. Lululemon, if you’re reading this: the people want more colourways!<\/p>\n

All in all, the EasyFive pants likely won’t replace the jeans in my wardrobe, but I am happy to have them in my rotation. They’re flattering, they wash well (I washed them in cold water and hung them to dry), and most importantly, they’re super comfortable. \u2014Kayla Kuefler, senior shopping editor<\/p>\n

As soon as I pulled on these wide\u2011leg pants<\/a>, my first thought was, “Yep, comfortable.” They have that perfect in\u2011between feel: not quite jeans, not quite sweats, but a soft, easy alternative for days when rigid denim just isn’t happening.<\/p>\n

The fabric has a nice weight to it, and the overall quality feels much better than I expected, to be honest. I’ll admit, I don’t usually gravitate toward wide\u2011leg styles \u2014 they’re not always the most flattering on me \u2014 so choosing this cut from the EasyFive collection was a bit of a gamble. That said, the fit itself is great.<\/p>\n

On me, they sit more like a mid\u2011rise, which I actually prefer, but if you’re hoping for a true low\u2011rise look, I’d echo Kayla’s advice and size up. Aside from my personal preference for the silhouette, these are genuinely well\u2011made, super comfortable pants that I know I’ll be reaching for. \u2014 Melina Brum, shopping editor<\/p>\n

The mid-rise pants have a relaxed, straight fit, intentionally styled for an easygoing look and feel. Think: comfortable, cool girl vibes rather than high-rise, suck-it-in-style denim. The pants come in four colours: light ivory, black, navy and tan.<\/p>\n

I’m always nervous trying on pants, so I typically err on the side of caution and size up. In this case, that was a mistake! These size 29 pants fit really big \u2014 lots of bunching on the front and plenty of gap in the waist, so I feel like they aren’t the most flattering pants on me as they are.<\/p>\n

That said, I get the appeal of the fabric. They’re very soft, have plenty of stretch and are definitely easy to move in. If I were sitting at a desk all day, these would definitely be a comfortable alternative to jeans or dress pants. I will say, I feel as though they look like my high school uniform pants \u2014 and a little bit like the Dickie’s I used to wear in the early 2000s. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but it made me miss Warped Tour and MuchMusic Video on Demand.<\/p>\n

I think in a smaller size, they might look a little better, but right now I feel like they look a little too frumpy. Something a little more rigid would likely suit my shape a bit better! \u2014 Elizabeth Di Filippo, senior lifestyle and features editor<\/p>\n

A cute (and comfy!) option for those with a penchant for flared pants, these high-rise bottoms feature a subtle flare design. They come in four colours and sizes 24 to 33.<\/p>\n

How they fit:\"woman<\/a><\/p>\n

I haven’t worn flared pants since the mid-2000s, so I was apprehensive to try even ones that claimed to be “subtle.” However, I was pleasantly surprised by the fit of these EasyFive Subtle-Flares; they leaned more towards a bootcut style, and I found them to be surprisingly flattering and leg-lengthening. I grabbed these in my regular denim size, and found that they fit similar in the waist and thighs to other brands like Quince<\/a> and Levi’s.<\/p>\n

These definitely live up to the claim of looking like denim while being comfy as heck. They were subtly stretchy but structured and the fabric felt relatively soft (they reminded me of Dickies pants I used to wear in high school). I found them easy to move in, and paired with a pair of block heels<\/a>, they could definitely be dressed up for an office environment.<\/p>\n

If I were ordering again, I think I’d go for a lighter colour (hello, ivory!) for summer \u2014 but I can’t complain about having a pair of classic black pants in my wardrobe. \u2014 Hilary Hagerman, lifestyle & shopping managing editor<\/p>\n
