BURNLEY, England (AP) \u2014 Former England international Jamie Vardy has joined Burnley on a season-long deal.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old striker, who won the Premier League with Leicester in 2016, was a free agent after leaving Italian club Cremonese at the end of last season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis experience and leadership will be invaluable to our squad, and we believe he can make a significant impact on our campaign,\u201d Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen said. \u201cJamie has a proven track record, and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Claret shirt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burnley was relegated from England\u2019s top flight last term.<\/p>\n
