Under the contract, Rheinmetall Canada will provide spare parts for two key components: the starter, which initiates turbine operation, and the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system, which controls turbine power output, operating sequences and safety functions.

The MSU uses a turbine-based design intended for operation under a range of climatic conditions. Its compact dimensions and relatively low weight also allow the unit to be transported by air to forward operating bases, providing a mobile aircraft ground-support capability.

Rheinmetall Canada is responsible for the development, modernization and maintenance of the MSU units from its facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

The company said the contract builds on its existing work in aircraft ground support and its support of US and allied armed forces.

The CCC facilitates contracts between Canadian companies and the US Department of Defense, enabling Canadian suppliers to provide defense products and services to the US military.

Rheinmetall Canada has received a contract from the US Navy to provide spare parts for MSU-200NAV air start…

[2
17
post-199025","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-canada","tag-canada
["GET
