We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we? Because they have picked him. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack.”<br \/>If Jack does land the coveted role in director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film, he could find himself sharing the screen with his wife, Saoirse Ronan.<br \/>The Bad Apples actress has expressed her interest in playing a Bond villain a number of times.<br \/>She told Empire magazine last month: “I want to go dark.<br \/>“I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious. <br \/>“I think it would be really interesting, having a young female villain. <br \/>“Especially for girls and women, to see someone who can just take all that pent-up anger and direct it somewhere, there’s something interesting in that dramatically. <br \/>“So I would love to do more of that.”<br \/>The 32-year-old star previously shared her idea for the potential character she would play.<br \/>Speaking on a 2024 episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast about her potential character, she said: “Her and Bond don’t get together or anything, she’s a villain. Like Javier Bardem vibes. <br \/>“I’m conscious of being blonde, because I feel like a lot of villains in movies, they’re always like, make them super blonde and evil looking.”<br \/>Speaking before Amazon MGM Studios took over creative control of the Bond franchise in February 2025, replacing long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, she added: “I’d want to break [the trend], but honestly it’s whatever [then-Bond producer] Barbara [Broccoli] wants!”<br \/>As well as Jack, other names tipped to don the suave spy’s tuxedo have included Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gary Oldman has claimed the next James Bond has been chosen – and he hopes it is Jack…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":199212,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[35764,62464,17,62465,35765,48706,62466,35758],"class_list":["post-199211","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-canada","tag-barbara-broccoli","tag-bond-villain","tag-canada","tag-daniel-craig","tag-denis-villeneuve","tag-gary-oldman","tag-jack-lowden","tag-james-bond"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/199211","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=199211"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/199211\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/199212"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=199211"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=199211"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=199211"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
