The substantial lead for the Conservative party quickly disappeared when a new Liberal leader appeared.

The West now knows that Liberals are really the party of Central Canada and thus the party of Canada.

Support for Conservatives in Alberta and Saskatchewan is over, and thus the Conservative party is done.

William Peddlesden, Chestermere

People will pay for data centre drive

Not that long ago, when Premier Danielle Smith was boasting about bringing in data centres, she made it clear that these energy sucking businesses would not affect electricity prices for citizens. Now, she’s warning citizens who have not locked into long-term fixed price contracts to do so before these businesses connect to the power grid.

Were we lied to by this government? Data centres should not be able to flip a switch until they have their own power.

Are the billionaires who own them more important to the government than the people? It would seem so.

Given the small number of permanent jobs that data centres create, the government is taking care of the wrong group of people.

Peter Crookes, Calgary

Who, single-handedly, has turned the easy going, average Canadian into an avid cheerleader for our country?
