More than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/news\/2026\/08\/list-of-products-from-the-united-states-subject-to-counter-tariffs-effective-september-8-2026.html#wb-auto-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">600 U.S. imports<\/a> were listed on Canada&#8217;s Department of Finance website; among them are cheese, aluminum foil, smartphones and toilet paper.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/news\/2026\/08\/list-of-products-from-the-united-states-subject-to-counter-tariffs-effective-september-8-2026.html#wb-auto-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">$27.6 billion in imports<\/a> from the U.S. will face levies as high as 50%, according to Canada\u2019s Department of Finance, impacting American businesses that export goods to Canada.   <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">The Get the Facts Data Team analyzed <a href=\"https:\/\/dataweb.usitc.gov\/trade\/search\/TotExp\/HTS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">U.S. International Trade Commission<\/a> data on U.S. imports to Canada in 2025 and narrowed it down to select food and household items that will be facing 25 to 50% tariffs from Canada and the value imported last year. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">Canada is America&#8217;s second-largest trading partner.
