OTTAWA, Ontario, April 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — After two terms and more than 16 years as Executive Director of the Royal Society of Canada, Darren Gilmour is stepping down next month.<\/p>\n

During Mr. Gilmour\u2019s tenure spanning four strategic plans, the RSC launched and completed its first capital campaign, established RSC Atlantic, acquired Walter House, created the\u00a0College of New Scholars<\/a>, published\u00a0Royally Wronged: The Royal Society of Canada and Indigenous Peoples, and organized the largest mobilization in the organization\u2019s 140-year history in support of Canada\u2019s response to the COVID-19<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n
