They picked up the song right away, filling the stadium with the rest of the lyrics, as the microphone continued to cut in and out.<\/p>\n<p>Once the song came to a close, the crowd erupted in cheers.<\/p>\n<p>The moment went viral both online and offline, garnering reactions from many Canadians.<\/p>\n<p>Even Clune thanked the crowd for helping her out.<\/p>\n<p>One Toronto resident said it was a great thing to see.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought that was really sweet,\u201d she told Now Toronto. \u201c\u2026what you hear in the news, I think, isn\u2019t representative of how everyone feels and thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Torontonian named Hunter agreed, saying that\u2019s what sports is all about.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe country\u2019s coming together as people and as citizens,\u201d he explained. \u201cThe countries are so intertwined\u2026 Everyone\u2019s travelled across the border. A lot of people have people work across the border, so I think it\u2019s great to hear people singing each other\u2019s anthems and supporting each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many people watching from home also shared the positive sentiment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow THAT is just a beautiful thing. What a memory for the fans and Canada,\u201d one Reddit user said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was honestly the best thing I\u2019ve heard in a long time,\u201d another Reddit user agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI teared up and I\u2019m American. That was so cool,\u201d a different Reddit user said.<\/p>\n<p>Among the praise, many U.S. fans also declared their love for Canada.<\/p>\n<p>While much of the reaction was positive, some believed the fan stepping in was not one of continuous support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSports are different because people are accustomed to hearing it. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re doing it out of any care for the country.
