At the pumps, prices are continuing to climb (despite the federal government introducing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/canada\/article-gas-taxes-explainer-canada-europe-expensive-diesel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gasoline and diesel tax break<\/a> in March), making summer road trips more costly as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">In April, Statistics Canada data showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canadian-airfares-march-2026-statistics-canada-jet-fuel-costs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">airfares had risen 2.9 per cent<\/a> compared to March of 2025. Gas prices in March were also up 21 per cent over the previous month, while Canada\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/economy\/article-canadas-inflation-rate-march-gas-prices-middle-east-conflict\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">inflation hit 2.4 per cent<\/a> after sitting at 1.8 per cent in February. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Are you feeling the crunch as you look to schedule or adjust your summer travel plans?
